MySpace a place for friends

Formed in April 2007 following the split of previous band 'Project Valkyrie' Blades of Angels are aiming to bring elements of their old style together with new direction and a focus on acoustic rock, and continue to play around the UK. Pete and Gez have played music together since 2002 when they formed the UK metal band 'Project Valkyrie', who over the following 5 five years toured all around the UK, recorded 2 EP's and 1 album with legendary producer Gavin Monaghan (Jesus Mary Chain, Nizlopi, Miss Black America), featured on Scuzz and Redemption television channels and provided the soundtrack to indie action movie 'The Silencer' (www.the-silencer.co.uk). Following PV's split in early 2007 Pete and Gez decided against returning to the complications that are inevitable when 4 or 5 people are in a band together, and instead chose to work as an acoustic duo. Musically they are maintaining the ambient melody and dark undertones that were PV's trademark, but now screaming vocals have been replaced by a softer singing style and crunching guitars have become clean, full and echoing. Work is progressing well on the first E.P provisionally entitled "From Darkness Comes Only Light..." which will feature the drums of Russ Johnson a long time friend and incredible musician.
